RAF Spadeadam is located on the edge of Wark and Kielder Forests between Hadrian’s Wall and the Scottish Borders. It is the largest RAF Station in the UK and also the youngest of the RAF’s UK bases having opened in April 2020. It is currently one of only two electronic warfare ranges in Europe.

Mission Statement

RAF Spadeadam's mission is to:- "Replicate the Current and Emerging Ground-to-Air Threat, to facilitate Realistic Training for operations in a Hostile Air Environment", in order to meet the unit’s Operational Output defined as "The Enhanced Capability of UK Aircraft and Aircrews to operate in a Hostile Ground-to-Air Environment".
